03. What's in a name?

03. What's in a name?

Truth be told, I didn't even come up with the name of this book. I knew I wanted to do a book. I knew it was going to have robots in it. I was thinking, "little book of bots" or " attack of the robots" or something super lame like that. I wanted something that was cooler, but I wasn't really coming up with anything I liked. So I asked some friends. Then I was talking to Roger and then Amy and the first thing she said was, "how about robot envy?" And It hit me like a slap to the junk- ok, well not really like that but It had a huge impact on me. I loved it and it fits with my personality while complimenting the meaning behind it. Now Robot Envy isn't about "hey, check out my cool robots!" It's an appreciation and a homage to ALL robots everywhere- past, present and future. My drawings are merely inspirations and interpretations of my imagination- or saturations of pop culture. I'm certainly by no means the master of drawing robots, and in fact I quite envy many artists who draw them MUCH better. And me kinda envying them! Anyway, there ya have it. Robot Envy. Thanks Amy!

Anyway, Super Excited that Kickstarter.com accepted my idea and proposal for the Robot Envy book! I have some super cool ideas for awards that are pretty unique. Here is the current logo- work in progress. This will probably change and get refined more and more over the project timespan.
